Yes Burn-Out Is A Real Thing & You're Not Exempt

Burn-out is now officially recognized by the WHO. Specifically focusing on the work context, if you’re burnt out you will have:
1) Feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion
2) Increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one’s job, or
3) Reduced professional efficacy
The key of course is doing something about stressors before you burn out. Once there you can’t be as effective – personally or professionally. Really think about what your personal warning signs are, and how you can change habits and implement new ones so you remain well and living your version of success. Developing your self insight into your warning signs really is key. It's so easy to end up in a place where it's hard to dig yourself out. Try asking those around you what they've noticed when you're under more stress than normal e.g. your non-verbals, the way you look, the food you eat, the alcohol you drink. And if all of this is quite foreign, reach out for some support. Because you, your friends and family deserve to be well. For those of you who love detail here you go! https://bit.ly/2yaYeEj
